Ok, the more I research, the more confused I get!

I think I have an older pre-mattel (possibly even German) Felicity (her picture is my avatar). She has the very red hair, different shaped face, different eyes, than my daughter's Lissie. And she has the "squishable" face vinyl.

I always assumed my daughter's was a Mattel one, but now I read that Mattel Felicitys have black eyelashes?? My daughter's Lissie's eyelashes definitely match her hair, but her haircolor is different than mine, the eyes are much more "noticeable" (for lack of a better word), and the shape of her face is different.

So how many "changes" did they make to Felicity--german, pre-mattel, post mattel, or more??

My Felicity is brand new, and yes she does have black eye lashes. Personally, though I was hoping for fire red hair, I am in love with her face shape! It's down right beautiful, even to where I think of her as Molly's older sister now, lol.

My Lissies eyes are more noticeable than the recent German Felicity I've seen and hair more red than Mattel. Mine is definitely not Mattel but figure she is Pre-M. As I said before her undergarment says Made in China 1993. Your doll's eyes are they a more subdued green rather than a bit bright/shocking?

    Hi -

Her eyes seem more subdued to me than my daughter's Lissie--also the shape of the eye socket is different. She also has "thicker" eyebrows. Her dress is tagged the "Made in West Germany", but anyone can change a dress. Her eyelashes are also significantly longer than my daughter's Lissie.

Closeups of my German Felicity are in my album "AG Girls" in my signature. You can enlarge the close-up pictures too, and compare yours to mine, if that would help!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Wow. I bought a German Felicity from ebay, and she looks exactly like yours! I think...couldn't get a close enough look to exactly check the corners of the eyes, but coloring is identical, face shape, etc.

I did notice that your Kirsten is prettier than my daughter's 2001 Kirsten. There's a replacement on the way because I never got used to the grey/green skin and the pinwheel irises. Yours seems more realistic. What year is yours?

Mine is supposedly pre-Mattel and it looks much like yours. The eyes are less round than the newer ones, and the lashes are brownish/red.

I can't see your daughter's doll, but I think some of the dolls changed a little bit even before the Mattel takeover. Your daughter's could be post-Mattel takeover and yet was still in inventory for you to buy for daughter. I'm a bit shaky on when the lashes changed to black. I know it was after Mattel, but how LONG after is unknown to me. I know the newest dolls have all black lashes.

Still, there are slight differences between the early 1991 Felicity dolls and those of later 90s yet still pre-Mattel. I don't know why. I have only observed this.

My doll is early nineties, and yet the Meet dress tag says "Made in West Germany in 1986". Go figure. It is the real dress, though. That has been verified.
